Revise CPAD with MapCollaborator
GreenInfo Network is pleased to introduce MapCollaborator-CPAD Edition, an easy-to-use, wiki-like web mapping tool that enables you to comment, draw or upload information that helps us improve CPAD. To launch your MapCollaborator session, click the button.
Using MapCollaborator
As with crowd-sourced wikis, submissions to MapCollaborator allow users to see all other comments - and whether they have been accepted, modified or declined by GreenInfo Network.
Use MapCollaborator to pin a note, draw a shape, suggest edits to attributes or upload your own GIS data. In each case tell us who you are (name, email, organization) so that we can check with you as needed. MapCollaborator guides you through each of your comments.
Information you submit becomes a CPAD proposal to GreenInfo Network, and we will make final determinations of whether to include such changes into the CPAD database.
Do You Want MapCollaborator for Other Uses?
Contact GreenInfo Network if you want to have a MapCollaborator edition built for your purpose. MapCollaborator can be used for many types of data development or review tasks (but MapCollaborator is not a replacement for formal GIS data).
Possible MapCollaborator Uses:
Provide public review for any basic GIS dataset (we recommend only one data set at a time), great for general plans, community engagement, group decision making, more. Or, use it to create a simple GIS dataset (points or area-based data).
Download the MapCollaborator factsheet.
Why Mapcollaborator?
Other applications, such as Google Maps/Earth, or ESRI ArcGIS Explorer can be used to create simple GIS data. More sophisticated technology, such as ArcGIS Server or custom web applications, can support robust data development and analysis.
MapCollaborator fits right between these choices - it's a simple, guided interface for selecting, commenting and uploading data. The guided choices help novices and those who need a bit of support, the all-in-one tool set means going to only one web page instead of clicking between several pages.
If you want a capable tool that is also easy to use, contact us about creating a MapCollaborator Edition for you!
